Why We Built Ask Fulton
The story behind Ask Fulton and our mission to make AI easier, safer, and more approachable for everyday people.
Why We Built Ask Fulton
Artificial intelligence is changing how we work, learn, communicate, and use technology.
For some people, that's exciting. For others, it can feel overwhelming.
AI is advancing incredibly quickly, and the conversation around it often moves just as fast.
Every week seems to bring a new tool, a new capability, or another story about how AI is going to change the world.
If you don't work in technology or spend your time following these developments, it's easy to feel like you're falling behind.
We built Ask Fulton because we don't think you should have to.
It started with our family
The idea for Ask Fulton started with a pretty simple conversation.
My in-laws wanted to understand AI.
They had heard about ChatGPT and knew AI was becoming increasingly important, but they didn't really know where to begin.
And when we looked at what was available, we realized there wasn't an obvious place for them to start.
Many resources were too technical, moved too quickly, or assumed a level of familiarity they didn't have.
Other products simply dropped them into an empty chat box and expected them to figure everything out themselves.
So I started creating lessons specifically for them.
Not lessons about the technical details of how artificial intelligence works, but lessons about how they could actually use it.
- How do you ask AI a good question?
- What information should you avoid sharing?
- How can it help you plan a trip, write something, learn about a new topic, or work through an everyday problem?
- How do you recognize when AI might be wrong?
- How can you use these tools safely and responsibly?
The goal wasn't to turn them into technology experts.
It was to help them feel comfortable using something that was quickly becoming a bigger part of the world around them.
That experience led to a much bigger question:
How many other people feel exactly the same way?
There's a gap between AI and everyday people
AI has quickly become one of the most important technologies in the world, but much of the industry is still built for people who are already comfortable with technology.
We think there's a large group of people being overlooked.
- They're curious about AI.
- They understand that it's important.
- They want to learn how it can make their lives easier.
- They just want someone to show them where to start.
Ask Fulton was built for them.
Instead of assuming you already understand AI, Fulton meets you where you are.
Our lessons are designed to be approachable, jargon-free, and completed at your own pace.
We focus on practical skills and real-world situations rather than overwhelming people with technical information they don't need.
You don't need a technical background.
You don't need to understand how an AI model works.
You just need to be willing to learn.
A safer, more supportive way to learn AI
Our goal isn't simply to give people access to AI.
It's to help people build a better, more confident relationship with technology.
That means understanding what AI is good at — and what it isn't.
It means knowing what information you should and shouldn't share.
It means learning to recognize scams, misinformation, and potentially unreliable answers.
And it means understanding how to use these tools to make everyday tasks easier without blindly trusting everything they tell you.
Safety and responsible use aren't separate lessons we added at the end. They're fundamental to how we think AI should be taught.
We want learning AI to feel less like being handed a complicated new piece of technology and more like having a patient guide sitting next to you.
You can start with the basics, learn one skill at a time, ask questions along the way, and gradually become more confident.
Building confidence that lasts
Learning AI isn't about memorizing how one particular tool works today.
The technology is going to keep changing.
New tools will emerge, capabilities will improve, and the ways we interact with technology will continue to evolve.
That's why we want to help people develop skills that extend beyond any individual feature or product.
After spending time with Ask Fulton, you should have a better understanding of how to communicate with AI, how to evaluate its answers, how to use it responsibly, and where it can genuinely make your life easier.
Most importantly, you should feel more confident exploring what's next.
Ask Fulton is designed to help people build the knowledge and confidence to evolve alongside the technology — without feeling like they have to become technology experts just to keep up.
AI built around people
Technology should make people's lives easier — not make them feel like they need to become technology experts just to participate.
That's the principle behind Ask Fulton.
We combine thoughtfully designed lessons, safety guardrails, and access to leading AI technology in one approachable place.
But we're building more than a place to learn which buttons to press or which prompts to type.
We want Ask Fulton to be a supportive place for people who are curious about AI but aren't sure where to begin.
- A place where it's okay to start from the beginning.
- A place where it's okay to ask questions.
- A place where you can learn at your own pace.
AI is going to continue changing quickly. There will be new tools, new capabilities, and new challenges.
Our job is to make that change easier to navigate.
To make AI feel less intimidating and more useful.
To help people understand both its possibilities and its limitations.
And to give more people the skills and confidence to take advantage of what AI can offer.
That's why we built Ask Fulton.
